About me

My name is Maria Barritta, I have a degree in psychology, trained and oriented in psychoanalysis. I have more than 10 years of experience working in community contexts, with vulnerable populations, as well as in private practice in the clinical field. I have been working for the last few years with patients who are going through migratory processes, accompanying these adaptation processes and the emotional challenges that this represents for each individual. At the same time, I have experience working with women, in relation to strengthening their self-esteem and self-confidence. I accompany them in maternity processes and during puerperium. I have experience working with present difficulties, such as anxiety, low self-esteem, life transitions, relationship difficulties, work related difficulties, OCD, work related stress, panic attacks, or any kind of emotional instability.

My therapeutic approach

During the sessions my therapeutic approach is based in Psychoanalysis. In my experience it gives us the possibility of understanding each other, and this is given through something as essential as the listening and words. It allows us to delve into past or present problems, to make a positive change in our lifes and be able to work in our emotional difficulties , so that we can feel more satisfied with our life. I am passionate about being able to accompany change processes. I am a respectful and empathetic professional, with a great sense of responsibility, who enjoys her profession very much.

My communication approach

In relation to the sessions, they are developed in a dynamic way, supporting me in attentive and respectful listening, as well as carrying out proactive interventions, which allow the patient to continue working on what was said. Having the possibility of talking is what leads us to the cure.
