I am Parwar, a CDA licensed psychologist based in Dubai. My academic journey spans across continents, with a B.A. in Psychology from Monash University, Australia, and a Master’s in Psychosocial Intervention from the University of Barcelona, Spain. Born in Erbil, Iraq, and raised in Denmark, I have called the UAE my home for the past 21 years. Embracing a global perspective, I deeply value the richness of cultural diversity and heritage, fostering a profound interest in identity and the sense of belonging.
With a client-centric attitude, my therapeutic approach centers on self-awareness and mindfulness. By cultivating self-understanding, individuals gain clarity amidst life's complexities. Drawing from Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I integrate elements of positive psychology and Jungian psychoanalysis. Additional modalities, such as ACT, Humanistic Therapy, and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), complement tailored treatment plans. Sessions are dedicated to your objectives and aspirations, fostering personal growth and empowerment.
I advocate for transparent communication founded on mutual respect and tolerance. Our therapeutic space is cultivated as a sanctuary for open dialogue, free from judgment or constraint. Here, you're encouraged to express yourself authentically, assured of a compassionate and understanding environment conducive to healing and growth.

Having spent the majority of my adult life in the UAE, including high school education in an Emirati setting, I possess an intimate understanding of its cultural nuances and societal dynamics. From the Emirati way of life to the complexities of expatriate experiences, I offer empathetic insight into the unique challenges and opportunities presented by the UAE's social landscape
I have cultivated a deep understanding of the Emirati mentality and way of life, informed by years of immersion and interaction within the local community. A more indirect and respectful approach is often preferred to direct confrontation, with communication being less confrontational, a lot depends on non-verbal cues and body language. It is crucial to understand these nuances in order to navigate social interactions effectively.
My firsthand experience has sensitized me to the distinctive challenges prevalent in the UAE, enabling me to navigate and address them effectively within a therapeutic context
Having embraced the expatriate lifestyle in the UAE, I bring a comprehensive understanding of its rewards and intricacies, fostering a supportive environment for individuals navigating similar experiences.
